According to Sky, England’s 2-1 win against Tunisia was watched by an audience of 21 million. It looks like Harry Kane knocked the Royal Wedding off the top spot for the most watched event so far this year!

Projects
Bilco and Howe Green access solutions can be found in a number of prestigious projects across the world, including sporting and leisure installations:-
Old Trafford
In 2010 Manchester United celebrated 100 years at Old Trafford, one of the most famous football stadiums in the world. Manchester United honoured the occasion by burying a time capsule, containing a variety of club memorabilia, at the stadium.
Howe Green was thrilled when their 7500 Series Floor Access Cover was selected to provide secure access to the time capsule.
The floor access cover was finished with a special rubberised resin flooring, complete with Manchester United’s logo. Howe Green was certainly centre stage in the Theatre of Dreams that day!
Ricoh Arena
Howe Green’s 7500 Series Floor Access Covers can be found in another football stadium - Coventry City Football Club’s award winning £113 million Ricoh Arena. The access covers provide easy and safe access to underfloor services carrying water, drainage and electricity. They have been used throughout the stadium complex. Infilled with terrazzo the covers fit seamlessly with the flooring and help to reduce the hazard of slips and trips.
Surf Snowdonia
Surf Snowdonia was designed to offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy the thrills of surfing within a fresh water lagoon the size of six football pitches on the edge of Snowdonia National Park.
With a venture such as this there was a requirement for a safe access solution to enable the maintenance of vital equipment.
The Bilco E-50T Roof Access Hatch was the ideal solution to allow maintenance personnel to get to roof-top equipment safely and easily. The automatic hold-open arm feature also prevents it closing unintentionally – a practical and imperative design consideration in the high wind conditions Snowdonia often encounters.
East Riding Leisure Centre
Howe Green supplied nine 7500 Series Floor Access Covers for the £25 million Leisure Centre located on Bridlington Seafront.
The Floor Access Covers provide easy access for the maintenance and upkeep of pool sumps and pool balance tanks located beneath the flooring.
The covers were fitted into the ceramic-tiled floor around the pool surround in the main pool area and infilled with anti-slip porcelain floor tiles to provide a flush finish.
Ironmonger Row Baths
Ironmonger Row Baths first opened in 1931 as a washhouse for local people. A swimming pool was later added in 1938.
A refurbishment brought the need for a number of safe roof access solutions to enable hassle free maintenance.
Two Bilco CS-50TB Companionway Access Hatches were ordered in addition to three S-50TB Ladder Access Hatches. All five hatches were supplied with LadderUp® Safety Posts to be permanently fitted to the access ladders beneath the hatch and to enable three points of contact to be maintained.

At the end of the day, no matter what the pundits say, the World Cup can be anyone’s game, just ask Germany! Thankfully when it comes to needing an access solution, selecting Bilco and Howe Green does not have to be the luck of the draw.
