National Waterfront Museum - Swansea

The multi-million pound National Waterfront Museum in Swansea is one of the top attractions in Wales, taking visitors on a historical journey through the industrial revolution, looking at the impact it had on the nation and its people.

On opening in October 2005, the museum won a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Award for its high architectural standards which were thanks in part, to Howe Green's floor access covers which were purpose designed for installation throughout the museum. Hundreds of metres of aluminium floor covers cross and intersect throughout the impressive Grade II listed building and its new glass extension, providing quick, easy and safe access to concealed mechanical and electrical equipment.

With more than 250,000 visitors to the museum each year, Howe Green installed its 7500 series floor covers which provide a heavy duty and tamper-resistant access solution that is both practical for the heavy pedestrian traffic, and aesthetically pleasing, making it ideal for the public facing location in the museum. Running across the reception areas, displays and exhibits, slim line aluminium show edges present clean and crisp geometry within the many different types of floor covering used throughout the building.

Fitted quickly and unobtrusively, the covers are double-sealed and corrosion and maintenance free to meet the highest standards of hygiene and security.
